FAQs

Loggerhead Rhythms

"Why is the Loggerhead Turtle crying?"

Loggerheads shed tears during egg-laying.  Scientists aren't sure why, they think its probably a cleansing process to remove the sand and salt from her eyes.   Indian legends attribute the tears to the sadness the mother turtle feels knowing so few of her hatchlings will survive.
Because I studied loggerheads, I decided to add the tears, and transform them into pearls, as tangible evidence of her labor, joy, and sadness.

"What is the significance of the numbers 519 on the Sand Dollar?"

The "Sand Dollar" was a commission and the customer wanted those numbers incorporated into the design. They represent an important verse in Ecclesiastes 519. I also included five doves, because when you break open a dried sand dollar (white), five white doves fall out of it every time. Try it!

"Do you sell your originals?

I do sell them, and if anyone is interested, please feel free to email me or call me!

"Do you do commissions?"

I've done quite a few commissions, and have enjoyed each one.
I also do artwork for events, which is typically put on posters and t-shirts.
My posters will be coming on the website soon....
